Before launching mikaranja.com, I built my very first portfolio site using Netlify to showcase my skills and projects as a multi-disciplinary freelancer. This website holds a special place in my journey — it was my first step toward building an online presence and communicating my services in a structured, professional way.
As I was gaining experience and expanding my skill set across digital skills training, freelance writing & tutoring, and data analytics, I needed a central place to highlight what I could offer. This initial site allowed me to:
Present my educational background, skills, and certifications
Share early freelance projects
Experiment with UI/UX structure, responsive design, and basic web hosting
How to deploy a static site using Netlify
Best practices for organizing portfolio content
Importance of clear branding and messaging in personal websites
While this site has since been succeeded by mikaranja.com, I’m proud of how far I’ve come from that first version. It was a valuable learning experience that set the foundation for my current site — and it’s always exciting to look back at how it all started.
